Upcoming ACS Research Scholarships, Fellowships and Awards

The American College of Surgeons announces the following research awards for U.S. and Canadian members:

George H.A. Clowes, Jr., MD, FACS Memorial Research Career Development Award
Five-year scholarship providing $45,000 per year in support of the research of a promising young general surgeon.  K08 or K23 NIH track candidates preferred.

Application deadline 1 August 2018; for Fellows or Associate Fellows in General Surgery.

Resident Research Scholarships
Two-year research scholarships providing $30,000 per year to encourage residents to pursue careers in academic surgery.

Application deadline 14 September 2018; for Resident Members.

Faculty Research Fellowships
Two-year fellowships with awards of $40,000 per year in support of young surgeons entering academic careers in surgery.

Application deadline: 15 November 2018; for Fellows or Associate Fellows.

Webmaster at Association for Academic Surgery
The Association for Academic Surgery was founded in 1967 and has grown significantly over the years being widely recognized as an inclusive surgical organization with over 2,500 member surgeons. Active members have traditionally held faculty appointments at a recognized academic center. Active membership is also available to senior/chief residents and fellows in approved training programs in general surgery and the surgical specialties. The impetus of the membership remains research-based academic surgery.
