The Association for Academic Surgery (AAS) recognizes its obligation to address the lack of diversity within the academic surgical workforce. We believe tackling this problem is essential to attaining health equities we continue to deliver care to an increasingly diverse patient population. Recent eventsĀ have highlighted thatĀ our efforts thus far have been insufficient, but hasĀ strengthened ourĀ commitment to changing this status quo.
