AAS Committees-Phase 2 Nominations Open & Phase 1 Selections Announced

AAS Committees – Phase 2 Self-Nominations Open

We are currently accepting self-nominations for the Ethics, Global Affairs, Committee on Technology and Communications, Leadership and Membership Committees. If you are interested in serving, please visit https://www.aasurg.org/nominations for more information, including descriptions of committees. To self-nominate, please log into your account. Self-nominations must be submitted online by 11:59 PM CST on November 3rd. You are welcome to nominate yourself for up to two committees, but you may only serve on one committee at a time.

If you are currently serving a term on a committee and your term will not end until after February 2020, you are not eligible to self-nominate to a committee at this time. Only members in good standing are eligible to apply. Statements of interest are limited to 100 words or less.  Online voting will take place mid-November and the election results will be announced in early December.

In an effort to continue increasing participation of candidate members in the Association for Academic Surgery (AAS), we are currently accepting self-nominations from candidate members who wish to serve on select AAS committees. One position per committee will be reserved specifically for candidate members.

Enthusiastic participation is critical for the future of our society. Please let me know if you have any questions about the election process by emailing me directly at [email protected].

Webmaster at Association for Academic Surgery
The Association for Academic Surgery was founded in 1967 and has grown significantly over the years being widely recognized as an inclusive surgical organization with over 2,500 member surgeons. Active members have traditionally held faculty appointments at a recognized academic center. Active membership is also available to senior/chief residents and fellows in approved training programs in general surgery and the surgical specialties. The impetus of the membership remains research-based academic surgery.
