AAS/West African College of Surgeons International Visiting Fellowship Award

 

The West African College of Surgeons (WACS) is pleased to announce the 2025 International Visiting Fellowship Award. The purpose of this award is to encourage the exchange of ideas and information about clinical, scientific and policy aspects of surgery between members of the AAS and members of the WACS.

The recipient of the second annual AAS/WACS International Visiting Fellowship Award will receive support to travel to West Africa to attend the annual meeting of the WACS in 2025. The recipient may be asked to give presentations at the WACS annual conference, and will also host the visitor from the WACS attending the Academic Surgical Congress in 2025.

This award is available to active members of the AAS who meet the following requirements:

  • A strong history of participation in the AAS
  • A record of significant accomplishment in any aspect of surgical research
  • A current full-time academic appointment
