Trauma and Acute Care Surgery

I am a trauma and acute care surgeon at UNC in Chapel Hill, NC, with an adjunct appointment in the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health. My research focuses on global health in Malawi, especially in the fields of trauma and general surgery, and I serve as the co-director of the Malawi Surgical Initiative.

I want to serve on the Global Affairs Committee to use my experience to foster bi-directionality in global surgery. This includes cultivating mentorship for young surgeons interested in global health, developing global health partnerships, and facilitating the inclusion of international surgeons in AAS.
