Joseph Ladowski, Candidate Member
Abdominal Transplant Surgery
I am a PGY-3 general surgery resident at Duke University on a dedicated research year studying transplant immunology and xenotransplantation. Originally from Fort Wayne, Indiana, I spent at Indiana University obtaining a Master's in Translational Research and graduated from the University of Alabama-Birmingham Medical Scientist Training Program with my MD-PhD in 2020. My goal is to become a NIH-funded surgeon-scientist studying transplant immunology.
The Academic Surgical Congress was one of the first academic conferences I ever attended. I am hoping to give back to the community by mentoring medical students, encouraging pursuit of research, and promoting those interested in careers in academic medicine.
