I am an Assistant Professor of Surgery practicing general surgery and critical care medicine, and as an independent physician-scientist I study the molecular signaling events that drive sepsis progression. I have authored 19 peer-reviewed publications and have been awarded NIH funding. I presented at the Academic Surgical Congress on three previous occasions and currently have an abstract submitted for review as a senior author. I am an AAS member, and as an early stage investigator I am particularly eager to foster continued scientific engagement at the society level and facilitate further development of basic and translational research components within the AAS. I thank the selection committee for its consideration of my application for appointment to the Basic and Translational Science Committee, and I would be delighted to answer any questions should they arise.Â
