AAS Candidate Councilor – Self-Nomination Form

Dear AAS Member,
Its time for AAS Candidate members to self-nominate for the position of AAS Candidate Councilor. The term of service for Councilors elected this year will be February 2024 to February 2026. The deadline to submit your application (below) is Monday, July 17, 2023. At the close of this self-nomination process the Nominating Committee will select three names for each class from respondents who indicate that they are willing to take on this responsibility. The classes will then elect a councilor from the three persons selected by the Nominating Committee.
Councilors sit on the Executive Council:
  • They are involved in decision-making and strategic planning for the AAS;
  • They are full voting members of the Council and therefore can have a significant input into the future directions of the organization;
  • They can bring new ideas forward, volunteer to serve on Ad Hoc Committees, and contribute to program development.
Service on the Executive Council is a significant contribution to the organization and is a great first step towards assuming a larger leadership role.
