Center for Equity in Global Surgery

General Surgery

As an international nominee for the Membership Committee of the AAS, I am deeply committed to advancing the mission of this organization. With a strong background in global surgery and academic medicine, I understand the importance of fostering a diverse and inclusive membership that reflects the broad spectrum of academic surgery worldwide. My experience in working across various healthcare settings has given me a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities faced by surgeons globally. I am eager to contribute to the committee's efforts in evaluating and selecting qualified applicants, ensuring that we attract the best and brightest from all corners of academic surgery. I am also passionate about enhancing membership benefits and promoting active participation within the AAS community. By bringing an international perspective to the committee, I aim to support initiatives that will expand our membership pool, improve member benefits, and uphold the highest standards for AAS members. I am dedicated to working collaboratively with my fellow committee members and cross linking with other committees like the Global Affairs Committee and academic surgical committees and colleges outside the US to achieve these goals and to contribute to the continued success and growth of the AAS.
