General Surgery, Surgical Oncology

Serving on the Publications Committee for the Association of Academic Surgery has been one of the most fulfilling academic commitments I have had the privilege of enjoying over the past year and a half. In this role I have had the opportunity to review abstracts and manuscripts submitted to Journal of Surgical Research. I am proud that I have provided thorough and thoughtful reviews in a timely manner. During this time I have continue to serve as the Director of Surgical Research at our hospital and continue to work with our translational science research associates and post- doctoral trainees in completing translational projects and grants. I believe these roles of service have prepared me well to serve on the AAS Basic and Translational Sciences Committee as well as the Clinical and Health Services Committee. I intend to focus on the goals of promoting the representation of well designed and well performed research reviewed by the AAS. Furthermore, I would be dedicated to selecting projects and programs that would be supported by the AAS at the annual meeting. It would be a privilege and an honor to serve with either of these committees and I have the requisite skills and time to be an effective and productive member of each of these committees.
