The University of Kentucky (UKY) Lung Transplant Program seeks a Surgical Director of Lung Transplant to lead its growing program. The incoming Surgical Director will guide a thriving, well-established team of lung transplant surgeons, thoracic surgeons, and transplant pulmonologists. - Treat a variety of life-limiting lung diseases, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pulmonary fibrosis, cystic fibrosis, coal worker pneumoconiosis, pulmonary hypertension, and sarcoidosis
- Perform leading-edge transplant techniques, including ECMO and ventilator bridges, and use advanced technologies, such as OCS Lung, LungGUARD, and Lung Bioengineering
- Advance the field through clinical trials and research - access the resources of an NIH Center for Clinical and Translational Science to develop new therapies
