The University of Kentucky (UKY) Lung Transplant Program seeks a Surgical Director of Lung Transplant to lead its growing program. The incoming Surgical Director will guide a thriving, well-established team of lung transplant surgeons, thoracic surgeons, and transplant pulmonologists. This is an excellent opportunity to lead a growing transplant program, positively impact the healthcare landscape in Kentucky, and offer renewed hope for a healthier future.

Opportunity Highlights:

  • Join a mission-driven, world-class transplant program with more than 500 life-saving lung transplants completed
  • Bring your expertise to one of the most experienced and successful lung transplant centers and serve the people of Kentucky and beyond
  • The center offers a multi-organ transplant program including lung, heart, kidney, and liver
  • Treat a variety of life-limiting lung diseases, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pulmonary fibrosis, cystic fibrosis, coal worker pneumoconiosis, pulmonary hypertension, and sarcoidosis
  • Perform leading-edge transplant techniques, including ECMO and ventilator bridges, and use advanced technologies, such as OCS Lung, LungGUARD, and Lung Bioengineering
  • Advance the field through clinical trials and research - access the resources of an NIH Center for Clinical and Translational Science to develop new therapies
