Trauma / Critical Care

I would be an excellent member of the Association for Academic Surgery (AAS) Ethics Committee due to my extensive background and commitment to surgical ethics. My fellowship in Ethics provided me with a robust foundation in the complex moral considerations that impact clinical practice and academic research. This specialized training has equipped me with the skills to navigate and address ethical dilemmas effectively.

My two years of service on the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Ethics Committee have further honed my ability to evaluate and resolve ethical issues in surgery. This experience has given me insight into the diverse perspectives within the field and the importance of fostering ethical practices that uphold the highest standards of patient care and research integrity.

Additionally, my active participation in the AAS conference has kept me engaged with the latest developments and discussions in surgical ethics. This involvement ensures that my contributions to the Ethics Committee will be informed by current trends and emerging ethical challenges in surgery.

Moreover, mentoring several students in their abstract submissions has allowed me to guide the next generation of surgeons in understanding and applying ethical principles. This mentorship underscores my commitment to promoting ethical awareness and excellence within the surgical community.

Together, these experiences demonstrate my dedication to the field of surgical ethics and my readiness to contribute meaningfully to the AAS Ethics Committee. I am eager to leverage my background and insights to support the committee’s mission of advancing ethical practices in surgery.
