Statement

I am an assistant professor of surgery in the Division of Trauma and Critical Care at Northwestern Medicine. I completed my general surgery residency at New York Presbyterian – Weill Cornell and my surgical critical care fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

During my residency, I completed a two-year fellowship in clinical ethics at Weill Cornell Medicine, where I performed > 300 ethics consultations, am Healthcare Ethics Consultant-Certified by the American Society of Bioethics and Humanities, and also published on issues pertaining to informed consent, ethical issues arising in surgical specialties, and gender disparities perpetuated by laparoscopic instruments.
