Surgical Oncology

I am a first-year academic surgical oncologist with special interests in hepatobiliary surgery, minimally invasive surgery, and metastatic colon cancer. I have prior experience in translational research, examining tumor immunogenic mutations for treatment of metastatic cancers and am looking to translate my experience in tumor genomics into guiding patient and tumor selection for treatment planning. I am currently building a tumor registry and observational clinical trial at my institution to facilitate this.

My unique experience in translational research, tumor genomics, and clinical trials adds to the current repertoire of candidates for the Clinical and Health Services Research Committee. Further, having navigated this at an institution with growing research resources, I share the questions and the growing experience with many of our trainees and early faculty in navigating the "how tos" of building a research program. These are valuable insights to share with the Fundamentals of Surgical Research Course and in developing high-yield programming for the Academic Surgical Congress.
