Moffitt Cancer Center

surgical oncology

Dear Sir, Madam,

I am writing to express my interest in serving as a committee member for the Association for Academic Surgery (AAS). I was first introduced to AAS during my years as a research resident and immediately found it to be an inclusive environment where I could thrive. The mentorship and exposure to cutting-edge research were invaluable to my growth.

Having recently completed a fellowship in surgical oncology, I am a testament to how AAS can support the development of young academic surgeons. I am passionate about addressing cancer disparities and believe that fostering a diverse pipeline of surgeon-scientists is critical in tackling this challenge. An informed and dedicated workforce that truly reflects the communities we serve is vital to advancing equity in healthcare.

It would be an honor to give back to the AAS and contribute to the organization's mission and culture. I am eager to be involved in shaping the future of academic surgery and advancing the goals of this esteemed association.

Thank you for considering my self-nomination.

Sincerely,

Nadege T Fackche MD
