Mayo Clinic

General Surgery, Surgical Oncology

I am eager to serve as a committee member of the Clinical and Health Services Research Committee for the Association for Academic Surgery (AAS), driven by a deep commitment to advancing research that bridges the gap between clinical practice and healthcare delivery. While I have not yet attended an AAS meeting, my extensive background in clinical epidemiology and health services research has equipped me with the expertise and enthusiasm necessary to contribute meaningfully to the committee's work.

As a Hepatopancreatobiliary Surgery fellow at the Mayo Clinic with a PhD in Clinical Epidemiology from the University of Toronto, my research has focused on mitigating healthcare disparities. Most recently, I have secured grants for AI-based wound monitoring systems to enhance access for patients with limited follow-up opportunities, and I am dedicated to translating research into practical solutions that improve patient outcomes.

I am passionate about fostering collaboration and sharing knowledge, both of which are core to AAS's values. Serving on this committee would allow me to contribute to shaping research priorities and initiatives that address pressing challenges in healthcare delivery. My fresh perspective and strong foundation in research make me an ideal candidate to bring new ideas and energy to the committee.

I am confident that my dedication to research, combined with my clinical experience, will enable me to be an effective and valuable committee member, even as I continue to grow within the AAS community.
