As an acute care surgeon, I pride myself on the quality of care I provide for patients and the impact I leave with trainees. The AAS has been instrumental in my success - navigating academic surgery through courses and workshops, as well as mentorship. I look forward to the opportunity to help lead the way through the committee work of this great organization and experience personal growth. My experience with participation on other committees in the areas of trauma care and diversity and inclusion is directly relevant to the task ahead and I look forward to working with others of my colleagues in the days to come.
