Hembashima Sambe

Medical Student

VA Puget Sound Health Care System

Medical Student (n/a)

I am an international medical graduate from the University of Nigeria, College of Medicine. I am excited at the prospect of serving on the AAS Committee as it presents a unique opportunity to drive meaningful change in a field that profoundly impacts lives.

Having practiced in underserved African communities and worked as a clinical researcher in the US for over four years, I am confident that my participation on the committee will help bridge the international divide between these diverse environments and foster productive collaborations. Moreover, my prior service in the U.S. military and my work improving functional mobility for veterans will be invaluable in strengthening ties between military and civilian sectors.

I am hopeful that AAS will grant me the opportunity to contribute to advancing surgical practice, research, and education locally and globally.
