Trauma / Critical Care

As a trauma/critical care surgeon, I care for a wide array of patient populations, and have worked with countless specialties, both in the field of surgery and out. I care for a diverse group of patients, and believe in the value of a workforce that reflects the patient populations we serve. The diversity, equity, and inclusion committee is therefore of the utmost importance in my opinion, and touches every other committee. Having been involved with diversity, equity, and inclusion committees in my hospital, health system, and with other surgical organizations, I would be honored to bring my passion and experience in this realm to AAS. I feel that support for DEI initiatives can only strengthen AAS, and have several ideas how we could coordinate with other organizations in this endeavor.
