I am currently a surgical oncology fellow at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. I am applying to the AAS Ethics Committee because I believe that integrity is essential to foster public trust in surgeons - both clinically and academically. Prior to medical school, I earned a master’s degree in public health ethics and policy. My interest in ethics extends to my work as a surgeon, health services researcher, and palliative care physician. If elected, I would be honored to serve on the ethics committee and support the work of the AAS.
