Serving as a member on the AAS Clinical and Health Services Research Committee would be a great opportunity for me to contribute to the AAS community. I want to be an active participant in developing the outcomes research components of the AAS pertaining to the annual meeting, educational courses, and awards. As a budding endocrine surgeon-scientist, I have first- and senior-author clinical outcomes publications, including investigating cost disparities in thyroid cancer care, the effect of radiation on survival in parathyroid carcinoma, and developing a risk stratification framework for malignant struma ovarii. Participating in this committee will allow me to give back to the society that has helped foster my growth as an academic surgeon.
