Self-Nominations for AAS Officer Positions-Deadline January 13

If you are interested in being a candidate for the position of President-Elect or Secretary, please visit the appropriate link below for more information, including descriptions of related responsibilities.

Per the AAS Constitution, anyone interested in serving in officer roles should have served on the Executive Council for at least one year previously. Exceptions to this rule can be considered by the Nominating Committee when necessary.
In brief, active AAS members who wish to be considered for an officer position, please apply using this link:
AAS Officer Self-Nominations
Self-nominations must be submitted by 11:59pm CST on Monday, January 13, 2020 at which point they will be reviewed by the Nominating Committee. Statements of interest for officer positions are limited to one-half page or less.
AGAIN THIS YEAR, voting for the officer positions will take place electronically on Wednesday, February 5, 2020, during the AAS Business Meeting in Orlando during the Academic Surgical Congress. Anyone with questions regarding his/her eligibility should contact Christina Kasendorf at [email protected].

Monday, January 13, 2020 at 11:59pm CST

Webmaster at Association for Academic Surgery
The Association for Academic Surgery was founded in 1967 and has grown significantly over the years being widely recognized as an inclusive surgical organization with over 2,500 member surgeons. Active members have traditionally held faculty appointments at a recognized academic center. Active membership is also available to senior/chief residents and fellows in approved training programs in general surgery and the surgical specialties. The impetus of the membership remains research-based academic surgery.
