New Associate Statistics Editor for the Journal of Surgical Research

Congratulations to the new Journal of Surgical Research Statistics Editor!

We are pleased to announce that Lakshika Tennakoon, MD, MPhil, has been selected to serve as Associate Statistics Editor for the Journal of Surgical Research (JSR). She will be joining our current Statistics Editor, Mazen Zenati, MD, MPH, PhD, and Associate Statistics Editors, Kanhua Yin, MD, MPH, and Amro Abdelrahman, MBBS, MS.

Lakshika Tennakoon, MD, MPhil

Stanford University

Dr. Tennakoon is a Research Data Scientist in the Stanford University Department of Surgery’s Section of Trauma and Critical Care. She obtained her medical degree from the University of Colombo in Sri Lanka and holds a dual doctoral degree in public health and an MPhil in epidemiology. Dr. Tennakoon has extensive experience in the application of data science and advanced analytics in surgical research, including work focused on injury prevention and improving trauma systems. She leads data analytics and data management for the Stanford Investigators in Surgery, Trauma, and Emergency Medicine (SISTEM) repository of national administrative databases and leads research and analytical support for the Surgeons Writing About Trauma (SWAT) initiative.
