February 3, 2016 by AAS Webmaster

Thanks to everyone who made the trip to Jacksonville to join us for this amazing meeting!

Our organization continues to grow and expand due to the outstanding support and volunteer efforts of AAS members.  Our committees have been busy at work throughout this meeting and it is their efforts that have made this year’s conference so successful!

To our current committee and council members who will be completing their terms of service at the close of this meeting,  we thank you for your dedication and service to the organization. Your contributions are truly appreciated and we hope that you will continue to remain involved in the AAS in other capacities in the future.

The committee elections completed this fall brought in a new group of enthusiastic committee members. We are excited to have you joining us in your new roles.

Many of the positions on our Executive Council are filled by Presidential appointment. In order to improve the transparency of this process and ensure that we achieve the most diverse representation possible, we have opened these positions for self-nomination. Thanks to everyone who took the time and effort to self-nominate for a position. The Officers have reviewed all of the self-nominations and have assisted Dr. Dimick identify a great group of people to join the Executive Council. These appointments will be announced at the business meeting tonight, 5:30pm in Grand Ballroom 1-3.  Please join us to hear the exciting news.

We will also be holding elections for the positions of President Elect, Secretary, and Treasurer. These positions are determined by your votes at the meeting this evening. Please plan on attending as together we continue advance the mission of the AAS.

We hope to see you all there!

Justin B. Dimick, MD MPH,  President of the AAS
