Association of Academic Surgery Guidelines for Respectful Discourse and Campaigning
These guidelines apply to all AAS Members, including candidates and their supporters seeking elected positions.
- No Coercion or Direct Inference: Members must not engage in coercion or apply undue pressure to influence voting decisions.
- Fair Process and Adjudication: Any concerns or disputes regarding voting eligibility of the adjudication of voting rights must be initiated by the affected AAS member without coercion. Candidates are not permitted to bring forth appeals on behalf of others. Any appeals should be directed to the AAS Executive Director: Gina Hardiman at gina@aasurg.org.
