AAS ANNOUNCES 2020 OFFICER SLATE

Dear AAS Member,

The AAS Nominating Committee is pleased to present the following slate of officers for the 2020-2021 year. Congratulations to all the nominees!

President-Elect

Amir Ghaferi, MD, MS

Secretary

Jeffrey Farma, MD

Luke Funk, MD

Fabian Johnston, MD

Virginia Shaffer, MD

Again this year, we will be voting electronically.  All Active members who have registered for the ASC will be sent a direct link to vote for this slate. The link will be sent around 12:30pm ET on Wednesday, Feb. 5th, and will be open for approximately four hours. The results of the election will be announced at the AAS business on Wednesday evening.

We encourage all members to attend the AAS Business Meeting, which will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 5th at 5:45pm ET in the Sabal D room at the Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace.

About AAS Webmaster

The Association for Academic Surgery was founded in 1967 and has grown significantly over the years being widely recognized as an inclusive surgical organization with over 2,500 member surgeons.

Active members have traditionally held faculty appointments at a recognized academic center. Active membership is also available to senior/chief residents and fellows in approved training programs in general surgery and the surgical specialties. The impetus of the membership remains research-based academic surgery.
