AAS Members:

This past few months have been a challenging time for many of our colleagues across the country as they have had to deal with mass trauma and severe weather which has shown the complexities and challenges of providing surgical care in these types of situations.

While not all of our members have been directly impacted by one of these recent episodes, we have all felt the desire to do something to support both our colleagues and the victims of these unprecedented events.

The AAS is committed to not only supporting our members but helping these communities to recover. We encourage all of you to think about ways in which you could help support our fellows colleagues and their communities as they try to recover from recent events.

Rebecca Sippel

Rebecca Sippel, M.D., FACS, is a tenured Professor of Surgery, Chief of the Division of Endocrine Surgery, and Vice Chair of Academic Affairs and Professional Development at the University of Wisconsin. She is a nationally recognized leader in the field of endocrine surgery. She is currently serving as the program director for the Endocrine Surgery Fellowship at the University of Wisconsin. She is past Secretary of the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons and past President of Association for Academic Surgery. She has a highly productive NIH funded clinical research program focusing on the diagnosis and management of patients with endocrine disorders and the outcomes of patients after surgery.
