Apply Now for the 2017 AWSF/Ethicon Fellowship Grant

Grant Applications are due August 29, 2016

 

Past  AWSF/Ethicon, Inc. Fellowship grants have supported women surgeons by funding original research in a variety of topics, including the following:

2016:  Analysis of circulationg exosomal RNA profiles in Melanoma.

2015: Teaching Palliative Care Communication Skills Following Surgical Emergencies.

2014:  Clinical Trial on the efficacy of sacral neuromodulation with Interstim for fecal incontinence following surgery for low rectal cancers with sphincter preservation.

2013: Translational Immunology: Investigation of in vitro immune phenotypes of responders versus nonresponders in metastatic melanoma patients treated with ipilimumab.

2012: Optical Fiber Spectroscopy (OFS) and its Applications in Minimally Invasive Esophagectomy.

About AAS Webmaster

The Association for Academic Surgery was founded in 1967 and has grown significantly over the years being widely recognized as an inclusive surgical organization with over 2,500 member surgeons.

Active members have traditionally held faculty appointments at a recognized academic center. Active membership is also available to senior/chief residents and fellows in approved training programs in general surgery and the surgical specialties. The impetus of the membership remains research-based academic surgery.
