PRIDE: The LGBTQ+ Community in Academic Surgery

The Association for Academic Surgery (AAS) is committed to the advancement of underrepresented groups within academic surgery. In particular we seek to raise the voices of minority groups in our field and educate surgeons and trainees regarding specific barriers faced by unique patient and surgeon populations. To this end, we invite you to join us for a town hall where we discuss issues pertaining to the LGBTQ+ community in academic surgery. We aim to explore barriers encountered by LGBTQ+ surgeons in their careers as well as ways to help queer patients access better surgical care.
