Why should I participate?

Participating in the “Get Off Your AAS” Fitness & Wellness Challenge is both a commitment to your physical health and a holistic approach to your well-being. This challenge is designed to enhance your endurance and foster a healthier work-life balance. You will have the chance to network with surgeons from other institutions by competing together on a team. Participation will give you an opportunity to recharge after the holidays and set the tone for a healthy and active year, while also contributing to the AAS Foundation’s mission of supporting emerging surgical researchers.

Those that register can participate by:

Wellness Activities:

Take care of yourself by having fun with a variety of wellness activities! Rack up points for staying hydrated (how many 16oz bottles you drink), connecting with others (phone calls, coffee dates, or meals with friends and family), and practicing mindfulness (minutes spent meditating, doing yoga, deep breathing, reading, journaling, gardening, playing video games, listening to podcasts, or anything else that sparks joy). These activities help create a balanced, healthy lifestyle while keeping things fun and exciting!

Workouts:

Participate in physical activities to enhance your fitness and well-being. Track your running, hiking, walking, swimming, and cycling in miles, and rowing in kilometers to accumulate points. Points are awarded based on the distance covered.

Don’t forget to tag #GetOffYourAAS to show off your challenge progress and amp it up by rocking your #GetOffYourAAS swag!

Visit the #GetOffYourAAS swag store to purchase your own swag & support the AAS Foundation! (A portion of sale proceeds go to the AASF)
