The AAS has helped me grow as an academic surgeon.
As a resident, AAS provided a valuable opportunity to present my research and gain insight from the Fall Courses. As a faculty member, the value of being a part of the organization has continued through mentorship of my own trainees, moderating at the ASC and serving on the program committee.
My goal is to contribute back to the organization and help others gain similar meaningful experiences and opportunities. I am particularly interested in improving recruitment and engagement of trainees and junior faculty through enhanced membership benefits.
