Christopher Childers, Candidate Member

Surgical Oncology Fellow
MD Anderson Cancer Center
The AAS has left an indelible mark on my short career. I remember attending my first ASC in 2016 and immediately catching the academic surgery bug. It transformed my perspective on who and what academic surgery is and filled me with lofty ambitions for what I could accomplish. Suffice to say, I was hooked!
Seven years later I realize the impact that meeting had on my career trajectory and I hope to pass that feeling to other surgical trainees through my participation as a candidate member on either the leadership or membership committees. It would be a true honor to serve this community and I would be grateful for the opportunity.
