Statement
Leadership is a crucial component of our work- it is how we take care of patients, but most importantly, it is how we enact change, and how we face and overcome challenges. I have seen how leadership can have a tremendous impact on the mission as well as the people supporting the mission. I have previously served as Chair of the AAS Military Committee and created military resident scholarships for the AAS Fall Courses, created a tri-service research collaborative, and completed a survey regarding barriers of academic surgery in the military. I hope to bring this experience to be a productive member of this committee.
