General Surgery
University of Chicago
A PGY3R (Research) at the University of Chicago, I am passionate about public health and have a keen interest in global surgery. In 2013, I obtained a Master's in Global Health at the University of Notre Dame, completing a 6-week field experience in Mokhotlong, Lesotho. I subsequently worked as a Non-profit Management Fellow at Timmy Global Health in Indianapolis, IN, creating a needs assessment conducted in 5 Latin American countries and serving as a liaison for students participating in medical service trips. I completed an MD/MPH at the University of Miami to better understand public health in a clinical context, and studied traumatic injury in Haiti. While COVID prevented me from doing my research years abroad, I've been applying global health principles to firearm violence here at home. I hope to assist the Global Affairs Committee in providing culturally appropriate interactions with and support for our global surgical community.
