The AAS has a keen focus on developing early career surgeons and provides a unique opportunity for education and mentorship. AAS has provided an incredible amount of support and encouragement to me and I am excited to contribute.
I am self-nominating myself for the Global Affairs and Leadership committees. I recently presented my work at NAASC in Sydney, Australia (as recipient of best overall abstract) and represented AAS- it was an incredible experience and speaks to the commitment AAS has to encourage academic surgeons. I would work hard to collaborate with international organizations and create further partnerships. I took the fall courses 2 years ago, and learned a lot. If nominated to the leadership committee I would take that opportunity to organize the fall courses, and continue to improve the content and quality, and ensure it remains a valuable resource for young academic surgeons.  Thank you for the consideration.
