I am currently a research resident at Northwestern University. Last year I worked with the AAS to conduct a study of COVID-19 positivity after ASC. I am also working with the AAS DEI committee and the SECOND Trial to develop a national mentorship network for surgical residents. This network aims to meet a critical need for residents who lack meaningful mentors, particularly for those who are traditionally underrepresented in surgery. I am eager to continue to work with the DEI committee to not only build this important network but also to develop other initiatives to foster diversity in surgery.
