Trauma and Acute Care Surgery

As an early-career surgeon-scientist, I am privileged to “work hard at work worth doing” and to advance science for the benefit of our future patients. My overarching career goal is to help people return to fulfilling, productive lives after trauma, with a special focus on traumatic brain injury. The AAS has been integral to my professional development into a surgeon-scientist, including learning the nuts and bolts of grant writing, team science, and mentorship through various AAS-run courses and meetings. I am now eager to give back and help advance the AAS academic mission. As a Clinical and Health Services Research Committee member, I would aim to inspire and help trainees and early-stage investigators to translate their patient care experiences to meaningful, funded research projects.
