I am a surgical oncologist and health services researcher focused on the intersection of political determinants of health and equity of surgical and cancer care delivery in the United States. The AAS, ASC and Fall Courses have provided an inquisitive, collaborative, and supportive environment to grow as a young surgeon-scientist, develop as a mentor of trainees, and successfully obtain K08 grant funding. On the Clinical and Health Services Research Committee, I hope to strengthen this community, to expand and diversify opportunities, and to empower trainees and junior investigators to connect their academic aspirations to meaningful, impactful, and funded research success.
