Statement

I am an Assistant Professor and in my 3rd year on faculty at UC Davis. I’m an MIS-trained foregut and bariatric general surgeon. I’ve have been developing my research program examining Sex Differences in Response to Bariatric Surgery, Novel Imaging Techniques to assess NASH and NASH-response to Bariatric Surgery, and other topics. I have been fortunate to receive a BIRCWH K12 award to further develop my research experiences. I love mentoring surgery resident and students in research. I wouldn't be where I am without the mentoring I've received along the way. I hope to contribute to the Basic and Translational Science Committee or Academic Advancement Committee with my perspective as a junior faculty and investigator, and help develop tools for supporting early academic investigators. I look forward to serving on the committee and getting more involved in the AAS.
