The AAS serves an essential role in academic surgery, providing developing surgeons a forum and opportunity to mature into their careers.  It also gives its members the ability to give back to the society and surgical community by serving in committee and leadership roles.  I welcome the chance to bring my experience and background to serve the AAS and its members.  Given the opportunity to serve, I commit to advancing the goals of the committee and the AAS to the best of my ability.
