Michigan Medicine seeks to recruit and retain a diverse workforce as a reflection of our commitment to serve the diverse people of Michigan and to maintain the excellence of the University. We welcome applications from anyone who would bring additional dimensions to the University’s research, teaching, and clinical mission, including women, members of minority groups, protected veterans, and individuals with disabilities. The Section of Pediatric Surgery in the Department of Surgery is committed to a policy of nondiscrimination and equal opportunity for all persons and will not discriminate against any individual because of race, color, national origin, age, marital status, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, disability, religion, height, weight, or veteran status, except as allowed by the need for bona fide occupational qualifications. Reasonable accommodation will also be provided to persons with disabilities, to disabled veterans, and to accommodate religious practice.

The ideal candidate should have a M.D. degree, should hold or have the ability to obtain the appropriate medical license in the State of Michigan, as well as be board certified or eligible by the American Board of Surgery in Pediatric Surgery. Preferred candidate will have evidence of clinical competence, an interest in an academic career, a record of teaching and research experience, as well as good oral and written communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with other clinicians. Junior or more experienced applicants, and applicants with any combination of clinical- and non-clinical interests, are all invited to apply. Programmatic growth interest in specialty areas of congenital anomalies, colorectal surgery, and pediatric surgical oncology will be highly considered.

The academic rank for this position will be commensurate with the applicant’s credentials. Clinical, educational, research, and administrative duties will be aligned with the applicant’s interests, and location of practice will be dependent on Section’s needs.
